We offer couple therapy for:
infidelity and betrayal

conflicts due to being at different stages of sexual or gender identity
deepening emotional intimacy
negotiating closeness and freedom
starting a family, and adjustment to parenting
family or origin relationships
religious and spiritual conflicts
and more.
Therapy at CityCouples™
At CityCouples™ we work carefully with each partner and couple to understand what is bringing you to therapy, and how you’d like to move forward.
For couple therapy, we use six sessions as the recommended minimum commitment in order to ensure you see progress. Your therapist will provide a recommended therapy plan during your initial welcome session.
Our Therapy Process
Week One: 90-minute Online Welcome Therapy Session
During this session, your therapist will review information you’ve shared in questionnaires provided to you when you scheduled your initial appointment, and answer your questions. You and your therapist will discuss the history of your relationship, as well as any outside factors that may be influencing your current reality. Your therapist’s main goal is to listen and understand your specific situation. During the final moments of this session, you’ll express your goals for the relationship, and any concerns that you have moving forward. Together with your therapist, you will decide on a therapy path, including number, frequency, and length of sessions.
Week Two through Closing: 60-90 minute Online Couple Therapy Sessions
You and your therapist will work together to find solutions for couple conflicts. Through the process of therapy, you will establish a plan for your partnership that meets your needs and will carry you into the future. Therapy will address the issues that bring you to therapy. They may include, but are not limited to:
understanding personalities, as well as role expectations
addressing stress, and assessing needs for relational supports
communicating sexual needs and boundaries
managing couple emotional distress
financial negotiations
Closing: Final Therapy Session
Once couples reach this stage, they are able to articulate that the problem that brought them to CityCouples™ has been solved. During this final session, you as a couple, along with your therapist, will review the progress that you’ve made since session one. You will affirm how you’d like to move forward as a couple.
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your level of satisfaction with the therapy work you’ve done, and to provide feedback. In fact, throughout therapy, your therapist will make sure that you are making progress and will request your ongoing feedback.
